No, everything is DIY. Owners do help and cooperate where common needs are shared. However there is no formal assistance offered or provided.
There are no other costs, fair use of the sand school and grazing is included in the livery fee.
No. We do not provide grass livery only, due to the fact we cannot guarantee grazing 365 days of the year.
Really, really good. You simply exit our yard and cross one road (15 feet approximate) to a bridle way. Within 5 minutes walk you are on Farthing downs with access to miles of bridle ways and shared paths.
We currently have stables for 8 horses.
We have approximate 25 acre. 4.5 acres are woodlands the rest is for grazing. The grazing is divided into 4 fields so we can handle 2 herds (Geldings and Mares). The 2 herds are always separated by either a field or a farm track. Sheep graze the land too and will usually graze after the horses have been taken off.
No you will not need to poo pick. When the horses move off the field we harrow the field which spreads the dung. We rest the fields between grazing which allows time for the dung to be washed into the ground.
No the horses and sheep are never turned out in the same field. They will on occasion be in an adjacent field to the horses.
Currently the yard is using both wood chip and straw (50/50). If you want to use something other than wood chip or straw then please let us know. We only insist on it being biodegradable.
